After four memorable months in South America, we left with Chile as the only remaining Spanish speaking country on the continent that we haven’t set foot on. Patagonia will give us an excuse to hopefully get there one day but it was time to move on for now. Getting from Montevideo to Anchorage was the most flight hours we’ve had on a single itinerary. Literally on the other side of the world, it was nearly 20 hours of flying time with a couple of stops along the way. As “luck” would have it, one ended up being a long layover in Las Vegas for 10 hours. It gave us time to get out on the “strip” and see what the big deal is. Walking down Las Vegas Boulevard we saw grown adults captivated like kids at Disneyworld. The huge, luxurious hotels, the entertainment options, the flashing lights, and the festive atmosphere make it easy to understand why the city’s slogan is what it is. Unlike many unlucky visitors, the only money we lost was at one of the hundreds of all you can eat buffets.
Missão cumprida, depois de fazer América do Sul quase inteira. Restando somente Chile, essa costa será especial e para uma outra e longa viagem. E do Uruguai para Alasca, total de 32 horas saindo e entrando em três aviões, mas com um lugar mais que legal para escalar: Las Vegas! Um super Welcome back home! E nossas 10 horas de espera, foi muito mais que interessante. Vegas realmente é uma diversão para adultos. As luzes, os casinos enormes, tudo aqui é feito para gigantes. Nao perdendo nenhum dinheiro, mesmo porque não apostamos nada, o clima aqui é de festa, festa e mais festa. Em pleno verão, os turístas veem aqui para aproveitar, ficar nos famosos hoteis, beber, curtir a noite, os shows e comer. E até da fome quando se vê os buffets que come a vontade. E falando em shows, não é nem preciso pagar, nas ruas mesmo, é impressionante ver a criatividade das pessoas estranhas que se concentram nesse lugar. Interessantíssimo, lindíssimo e além das muitas coisas sujas que por aqui devem acontecer por detrás das cortinas, valeu a pena passar algumas horas em Vegas.
