Day 242: Funny how time flies

Palomino is a quiet beach town with a special character that was the designated site of where I completed another year on this earth.  Just a tiny spec on the map, if you blink you’ll miss the few shops and houses that line the main road when passing through.  The attraction of Palomino is its white sand beaches along with the river that goes by the same name which flows from the mountains above.  It’s a less frequently visited option than some of the more popular spots on the northern Caribbean coast but a beautiful place for some R&R.  After enjoying some delicious birthday tropical fruit crepes for breakfast, we had a lazy day at the beach to celebrate the special occasion.  As another year passes, the “age is just a number” mentality is starting to make a lot more sense.

Palomino é uma cidade praiana bem tranquila que fica há duas horas de Santa Marta e quase na fronteira da Venezuela. Um pequeno ponto no mapa, porém muito mais que especial para nós porque é aqui que iremos celebrar o birthday do Bryan. E não podíamos ter escolhido um lugar mais legal. Uma linda praia, poucas lojinhas, poucos turístas e na pequena vila todos são muito simpáticos. A maior beleza é o encontro do Rio Palomino que sai das montanhas da Sierra Nevada e se encontra com o mar caribenho. Claro que 32 anos de vida, só merecia uma suíte presidencial e um café da manhã com crepe de frutas frescas. Com direito a bexigas e velinhas de Feliz Cumpleaños, foi assim que comemoramos e agradecemos as anjos por mais um ano de vida do B.
