Day 126: Some home cooking

It had been while since we felt what is was like to taste a “home-cooked” meal from our “own” kitchen so we are taking full advantage of the opportunity to make our own food in our hostels.  So far the kitchens have been tidy and very well-equipped with everything we might need to make a desired dish.  The difficulty has been to determine what to buy at the grocery store without letting anything go to waste or leaving anything behind.  One of Márcia’s specialties is her chicken stroganoff which we enjoyed while overlooking shady palm trees in front of the wonderful view of the bay and beaches.  “Sky” sat close by with hopeful eyes that we might treat him to a taste as well.

Já tinha esqueçido como é bom ter desejo de comer as coisas e  poder ir para a cozinha e fazer. As cozinhas dos albergues são super bem equipadas e tem tudo que você imaginar, aqui você encontra. Temos que ser generosos na quantidade e criativos na hora da escolha, para evitar o desperdício. Ontem tivemos macarrão com creme de leite, e estava uma delícia. E hoje anoite, o desejo hoje foi de strognoff de frango. Mas, comprar todos os ingredientes,usar só um pouquinho, e jogar o resto fora, não seria uma boa idéia. Graças aos olhos de Bryan, vimos um molho de strognoff pronto e decidimos provar. Maravilhoso! Jantar com vista para o mar, com direito a coqueiro na nossa frente. Comemos até a barriga não aguentar mais. Yummi.
